U.S. Ambassador
to Uruguay Martin J. Silverstein hosted the U.S. ambassadors
from Paraguay and Argentina for a weekend in Punta del Este
to discuss issues relevant to Latin America.
President
Jorge Batlle of Uruguay spent time with the group on the
eve of his trip to the Vatican and Angola. Batlle participated
in a working dinner with the ambassadors at the Hotel Conrad.
The group
included Ambassador Silverstein, U.S. Ambassador to Paraguay
John Keane and U.S. Ambassador to Argentina Lino Guiterrez.
Accompanying the ambassadors were their spouses, Audrey
Silverstein, Graciela Keane and Miriam Guiterrez.
The ambassadors
and spouses also visited famous Uruguayan artist Carlos
Paez Vilaro in his unique workshop Casapueblo, outside of
Punta del Este.
